Community Corps Program - Durango
A 4-week introductory training program to conservation work, team building and civic responsibility based out of Durango, Ignacio, Cortez and Pagosa Springs. Crews meet Monday-Thursday and go home at night. Participants earn a monetary award for successful completion of the program.

Day Conservation Program - Durango
A day crew is great for individuals with evening commitments or for a first time Corpsmember. Occurs in Durango and Cortez, CO. Crews work and learn Monday-Friday, and go home at night.

Frontcountry Conservation Program - Durango
A front-country crew is an excellent beginning step for individuals new to corps programs or conservation work. Crews work, learn and car camp for 11-day hitches in front-country locations.

Backcountry Conservation Program - Durango
Crews work, learn and camp for a minimum of 11-day hitches in backcountry locations. Conservation or backcountry experience preferred. May require backpacking up to 15 miles in the backcountry.


Continental Divide Trail Alliance Program - Durango
Spring crew that work strictly on the Continental Divide Trail in New Mexico and Colorado. The crew spends the entire 8-weeks in the field completing backcountry trail work and presenting information on the CDTA to local schools and groups.


Sustainable Forestry Team-Durango
Crew geared towards individuals interested in a career in Wildland Firefighting or Forestry. Crew is trained in S212(Chainsaw) and S130/190(Intro to Wildland Firefighting) classes and spends a large amount of time completing thinning projects.




Crew Leader Development Program - Durango
Six month crew comprised of members with strong leadership skills and an interest in the environment. Members will spend 3-months preparing for a leadership role on one of our summer crews. They will then spend 3-months as an Assistant Crew Leader and then finish their service by debriefing and sharing experiences with their original crew members. Previous corps or outdoor leadership experience preferred. Residential and non-residential work schedules.

Conservation Crew Members - Sonoran Desert
A conservation crew is an excellent beginning step for individuals new to corps programs or conservation work. Crews work, learn and car camp for 11-day hitches in front-country locations with occasional backcountry opportunities.

11 Month Leadership Development Crew - Sonoran Desert
The Leadership Development Crew is an 11-month long program that trains members in leadership and conservation methods in recovering from disasters. LDC members will work on conservation and community service projects, implement SCC’s Outdoor Education Program, mentor SCC conservation crews, participate in special events and complete individual internships. The crew will receive technical, medical and educational trainings pertinent to their positions including chainsaw training and wilderness first aid.
